Hi, hmm,
i don`t know the exact answer,
i just keep on painting keeping in mind how light and shadows work,

also i use a lot of gradient fills to get this smooth transition.

hope it helps)

How do you get everything to blend, light to dark, etc. for depth ,so well, as a very serious question, if you dont mind answering.

I love the cold (last) picture!
Besides the cool little bits and bobs to look at I really enjoyed trying to work out how it was the same piece! =P Very tricksy!

Ah yeah I suppose if you were using a graphics tablet with it. you could just do it freehand. didnt think of that. :stupidme:

Just one of those things I guess. =P

If you're doing digital painting yourself I strongly suggest 'obtaining' a graphics tablet, even a small cheap one is light-years more helpful than a mouse, or other peripherals.
