Making of 'Good vs Evil'

So here is a kind of "making of" i wanted to share with a bit of explanation.

1. So as usual i start with a really quick sketch to form the idea that i have in my mind. At this step i captured the main forms and idea.

2. This step is more about designing the characters and environment. For me it is better to detail design that i like, otherwise i can end up with good looking picture but awful overall design, what i hate at most))

3. After i`ve done with design of the main monster, i`ve played with colour contrast. Adding cool colour to background created interesting contrast which i developed a bit more in following stages.
Also i added some particle effects, being a graphical designer i love special effects))
And for fire i used several photos, that i retouched heavily to suit them to my composition.


4. Here i detailed the foreground and the braveman.
First i wanted him to look afraid, what is quite normal in front of this beast,but then i changed my mind!)
Common, this is New Year, we have to fight the evil)
So i made him a braveman!

5. Detaling the background and adding more contrast.


In each of my paintings i find some places that i like at most.
I think these two close-ups work quite fine.)

His teeth look wet and sharp, stay far enough from this guy!
