Making of "Welcome to 2010" by jamajurabaev Making of "Welcome to 2010" by jamajurabaev
So as usual i wanted to share a kind of making of my previous piece.

In this one i started with picture taken by my brother Surat Toimastov, who is quite famous photographer here in Tajikistan.

This picture was taken somewhere in Pamir Mountains.

Being inspired by this picture and having an idea in my mind i made sketch and continued to refine it.

I constructed a grid for buildings in order to have a proper perspective.

It took me quite long to refine those buildings but i hope it works well.

Other than that, i wanted to deliver this snowy atmosphere, so i spent some time to bring those snow and wind effects!

very cool. One thing i dont understand yet in digital painting is how you make such straight lines. I mean in photoshop, I cannot freely draw a straight line for my life. How do you do it?

Thanks again for putting up another "Making of.."! It's very interesting to see the inspiration and how the idea progressed. One question - did you have to draw the perspective grid line by line?
